The Financial Services Authority
Rensburg is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) whose function is to provide investor protection through the regulation of financial product providers in securities and derivatives business.
Under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, the FSA has four statutory objectives:
- To maintain confidence in the UK financial system
- To protect customers
- To promote public awareness
- To help reduce financial crime
In order to meet the 'to protect customers' objective, the FSA aim to deliver high standards of investor protection by ensuring that firms it has authorised:
- Are fit and proper, employing individuals who are honest, competent and who have integrity
- Conduct their business with clients in accordance with good market practice
- Safeguard clients assets
- Have sufficient financial resources to meet their obligations
- Meet other requirements established under the Financial Services and Markets Act
